Illusion and Chemistry Exhibition at Keirnan Gallery, VA

My work is included in the online part of the exhibition "Illusion and Chemistry" at Keirnan Gallery in Virginia. Christopher James was the juror for the show and my friends Diana Bloomfield and Aspen Hochhalter made the Gallery exhibition. Congratulations Diana and Aspen! It was good that Christopher James got to see my work and very happy he included me in this exhibition! Jame's book on Alternative Silver processes is the standard for any Alt Process class...he's a genius!

A screen shot of the work. This work, a diptych, is new, 2011 and was made  in response to pulling my own work out of the rubbish bin after 3 days, and pairing it with a found work. When placed together it speaks to the mistreatment of slaves on plantations (part A) before Reconstruction and my feelings of sadness and outrage around this (part B). I feel this might be another new direction in my work, which is exciting!
